The Spring stage at Symbiosis '15

The Spring Stage was built for temporary use at Symbiosis Gathering 2015. This project was a collaboration amongst the Imagine Nation and was designed by Prescott McCarthy. The stage and the surrounding infrastructure was constructed using recycled wood that was sourcedfrom the greater LA area both before and during the build process. The designs for the stage and shade structure were created prior to the festival and then implemented on site. Much like a black and white blueprint, the design for this project left room for certain colorful twists to unfold along the way. Various treatments were used to color the wood so that certain layers or patterns would appear brighter or more striking in juxtaposition with the whole.

The stage featured two standing structures that were positioned in the audience. The standing structures became temporary homes for festival goers as their bases were used for laying and seating area. Participants also had access to a crow's nest sitting atop the standing structures if they could wiggle and twist up the rope ladder.
