The Pine Bridge at symbiosis '16

Location:

The Barrel Bridge was constructed onsite at Symbiosis 2016. The bridge spanned 220 feet across the water connecting the Main Stage with Silk Road. Because of its location the bridge carried foot traffic to the from the main stage for the entirety of the 4-day festival holding up to 45,000 pounds for continuous hours without flinching.

The bridge construction involved cutting notches into timbers, installing timber cross braces,standing A-frame timbers, timber hand railings, and 2 x 6 boards as the pathway.

This project took a village and with that village we built a bridge. This tremendous feat took a total of 5 days, was utilized for the 4 day festival, and then was broken down in 2 days. The creation of this bridge was truly an amazing experience.
